How to paint Skull Base?


In my previous article How to make a scenic base with Skulls? I showed you how I made this scenic base. This time, I show you step by step how I painted it.

1. Basecote with Citadel Skull White Spray.


2. Base colors Bleached Bone and Adeptus Battlegrey.


3. Wash Agrax Earthshade (Devlan Mud) on the whole base.


4. Wash Reikland Fleshshade (Ogryn Flesh) only on skulls.


5. Old Citadel Flesh Wash only on skulls.


6. Wash Nuln Oil (Badab Black) on skulls "eyes".


7. AK-Interactive AK 711 CHIPPING COLOR - making scratches.


8. Painting small stones with Celestra Grey (Astronomican Grey)


9. Drybrush base with Celestra Grey (Astronomican Grey)


10. Drybrush base with Celestra Grey (Astronomican Grey) + White Scar (Skull White)


11. Drybrush skulls with White Scar (Skull White)


12. Painting details like arrows.


13. Adding dry pigments and blood with Tamiya X-27 Clear Red.
