How to use "Dark Steel" pigment?

Currently working on a bust on a scale of 200 mm (1/10) in an atmosphere of SF. The main part of the bust is a rifle. So I wanted to make it a unique, eye-catching viewer. I wanted to make the texture of the surface unique and futuristic.

Aktualnie pracuję nad popiersiem w skali 200 mm (1/10) w klimacie SF. Głównym elementem popiersia jest karabin. Chciałem więc by był on czymś wyjątkowym, przykuwającym wzrok widza. Chciałem, by jego powierzchnia była unikalna i futurystyczna.

1. I painted all the part black primer using an airbrush. Some of areas I improved by brush and black paint.

P
omalowałem cały element czarnym podkładem przy użyciu aerografu. Niektóre miejsca poprawiłem pędzlem i czarną farbą.

2. Highlighted all the edges with diluted paint Celestra Gray (Astronomican Grey).
Rozjaśniłem wszystkie krawędzie rozwodnioną farbą Celestra Gray (Astronomican Grey).

Mig Jiménez, the original creator of pigments which are popular all over the world, has created the new definitive range of pigments for modellers. The Dark Steel pigment is the most realistic and finest to imitate metal that you can find.

Metaliczny pigment, Podobny do bardzo drobno zmielonego grafitu ołówka. Pomocny do uzyskiwania metalicznych powierzchni. Jeden z najbardziej innowacyjnych produktów. Naprawdę warto go wypróbować.

All kinds of medical applicators are a very useful toolI used Kerr Applicators. They are basically a very delicate fluff, strapped very tight at the end of a thin plastic toothpicks.

Wszelkiego rodzaju aplikatory medyczne są bardzo przydatnym narzędziem. Użyłem aplikatorów firmy Kerr (pędzelek do weatheringu). Są one w zasadzie bardzo delikatnym puchem, przyczepionym bardzo mocno na końcu cienkiej, plastikowej wykałaczki.

3. Using the applicator rubbed dry pigment Dark Steel in all areas of interest to me. I tried to not cover the lightened edges. The depressions left black.

U
żywając aplikatorów wtarłem na sucho pigment Dark Steel we wszystkie interesujące mnie powierzchnie. Starałem się, nie zakrywać jasnych, rozjaśnień krawędzi. Zagłębienia pozostawiłem czarne.

This is the result of the work at this stage.
Oto efekt pracy na tym etapie.

4. Several elements of rifle, I painted in white.
Kilka elementów karabinu pomalowałem na biało.

5. The depressions pour pigment Faded Blue by small brush. I removed the excess pigment. Pigment fised witth Cleanser Ipa.

W
zagłębienia wprowadziłem pigment Faded Blue małym pędzlem. Nadmiar pigmentu usunąłem. Pigment utrwaliłem wprowadzając w zagłębienia Cleanser Ipa.

6. All pigments secure by applying Cleanser Ipa using an airbrush. In addition, part of the edge highlighted mixture Celestra Gray (Astronomican Grey) and White Scar (Skull White).

Wszystkie pigmenty utrwaliłem nanosząc Cleanser Ipa przy użyciu aerografu. Dodatkowo rozjaśniłem część krawędzi mieszanką Celestra Gray (Astronomican Grey) oraz White Scar (Skull White).

Finally, it is all protected with varnish.
Na koniec warto wszystko zabezpieczyć lakierem bezbarwnym.

Have fun painting,
ARBAL
