This time I have the opportunity to show you the Redgrass Games product. It is a paint mat, basically a light colored only cutting mat. This review, like everyone else on my blog, is not sponsored.

My current workplace looks like this. As you can see, I have been using the OLFA cutting mat A2 size for several years. The mat works perfectly.
Moje aktualne stanowisko pracy wygląda następująco. Jak widzicie od kilku lat używam maty do cięcia firmy OLFA w rozmiarze A2. Mata sprawdza się idealnie.

So it's time to change, refresh the work surface. The choice fell on a new mat dedicated to figure painters. Let's see how this product looks like. Will it really be a better choice for figure painters than standard mats that have been available on the market for many years?
Przyszedł więc czas na zmianę, odświeżenie powierzchni roboczej. Wybór padł na nową matę, dedykowaną malarzom figurkowym. Zobaczmy jak prezentuje się ten produkt. Czy rzeczywiście będzie lepszym wyborem dla malarzy figurkowych niż standardowe maty dostępne na rynku od wielu lat?
The mat reaches us packed in a protective film.
Mata dociera do nas zapakowana jest w folie ochronną.
The set also includes a color wheel in the form of a sticker. We can stick it in a special place on the mat (the circle visible in the upper left corner of the mat).
W zestawie znajdziemy dodatkowo koło kolorów w postaci naklejki. Możemy ją nakleić w wyznaczonym do tego specjalnym miejscu na macie (okrąg widoczny w lewym górnym rogu maty).
Below you can see a comparison of the dimensions of the Redgrass Games mat with the OLFA CM-A2 mat. The differences are minor.

The thickness of the OLFA mat is identical to that of the Redgrass Games. product. However, you can notice that it consists of three, not one, layers of material.

Additional "aids" for painters are printed on the mat. The mat is identical on both sides.

Here we find circles and squares of various sizes. They can be helpful when we want to quickly determine the size of the base for miniatures used in battle games.
Znajdziemy tutaj okręgi i kwadraty o różnych wymiarach. Mogą okazać się pomocne kiedy chcemy szybko określić wymiar podstawki do figurek używanych w grach bitewnych.
Another thing is the cheat of mixing paints. Useful rather for beginners adepts of the secret art of painting figures :).
Kolejną rzeczą jest ściąga z mieszania farb. Przydatne raczej dla początkujących adeptów tajemnej sztuki malowania figurek :).
On the mat you will also find simple rulers that allow you to measure an object in cm and inches.
Na macie znajdziemy również proste miarki pozwalające zmierzyć jakiś obiekt w cm i calach.

The manufacturer also advertises that the bright color and uniform background of the new mat has been specially selected for figurine painters. The mat can be used as a background when taking pictures of figurines. This can be especially useful for people who take a large number of WIP (work in progress) photos during the model painting process. Below I took two quick photos of two miniatures with my phone on the OLFA and Redgrass Games. mat. The photos were taken under the same lighting conditions. Draw your own conclusions from this test.
Producent reklamuje również, iż jasny kolor oraz jednolite tło nowej maty został specjalnie wybrany pod kątem malarzy figurkowych. Mata może służyć jako tło przy wykonywaniu zdjęć figurek. Może być to szczególnie przydatne osobą, które wykonują dużą ilość zdjęć WIP (work in progress) w czasie procesu malowania modelu. Poniżej wykonałem dwa szybkie zdjęcia dwóch figurek telefonem na macie OLFA oraz Redgrass Games. Zdjęcia były wykonane w tych samych warunkach oświetleniowych. Sami wyciągnijcie wnioski z tego testu.

Redgrass Games Painting Mat is a solidly made cutting mat. It does not differ in quality from other products currently available on the market. It has several well-thought-out solutions to make life easier for figurine painters or modellers. Whether they are really useful, you have to judge for yourself, they certainly look nice :) If you don't have such a mat in your workshop yet, it is worth considering buying a Redgrass Games Painting Mat.
Redgrass Games Painting Mat jest solidnie wykonaną matą do cięcia. Nie odbiega jakością wykonania od innych produktów dostępnych w tej chwili na rynku. Posiada kilka przemyślanych rozwiązań mających ułatwić życie malarzom figurkowym lub modelarzom. Czy rzeczywiście są one przydatne to musicie ocenić sami, na pewno fajnie wyglądają :) Jeśli jeszcze nie posiadasz takiej maty w swoim warsztacie to warto rozważyć właśnie zakup modelu firmy Redgrass Games.
