HeroQuest - How to paint heroes?
In this post I will focus on 4 heroes models. I tried to paint the hero figures as quickly as possible, but in good quality for board game models. At this scale, high contrast is the most important thing in my opinion. I spent a maximum of 2-3 hours of work on each hero.
W tym poście skupie się na 4 figurkach bohaterów. Starałem się pomalować figurki bohaterów jak najszybciej ale w dobrej jakości jak na modele do gry planszowej. Przy tej skali, w mojej opinii najistotniejszy jest duży kontrast. Poświęciłem maksymalnie 2-3 godziny pracy na każdego bohatera.

I washed all models in warm soapy water. I advise you not to skip this step. The models are slightly oily and sometimes it may be difficult to apply paint to them.
Wszystkie modele umyłem w ciepłej wodzie z mydłem. Radzę Wam nie pomijać tego kroku. Modele są lekko tłuste i czasem możę być probelm z nałożeniem na nie farby.

I decided to upgrade the bases of all the figures in the game box. However, I didn't want to spend several evenings on it. A quick, effective solution. Anyway, any option will be better than empty bases...
Postanowiłem ulepszyć podstawki wszystkich figurek z pudełka do gry. Nie chciałem jednak spędzić nad tym kilku wieczorów. Szybkie efektowne rozwiązanie. Zresztą każda opcja będzie lepsza niż puste podstawki...

So I used bricks and tiles from Juweela, perfect for this purpose. I filled the gaps between them with sand. I glued everything with PVA glue.
Wykorzystałem więc idealne do tego celu cegiełki i płytki od Juweela. Przerwy między nimi wypełniłem piaskiem. Wszystko przykleiłem klejem typu Wikol.
In this quick way, I managed to get through all 35 figures. I think it's worth spending some extra time on this.
W ten szybki sposób ogarnąłem wszystkie 35 figurek. Myślę, że warto przeznaczyć na to trochę dodatkowego czasu.
This time I applied a spray primer to all the figures as the quickest method. I will try to use as many GW Contrast paints as possible. So I decided to use white undercoat on most models vertically from above. However, I also added a black base coat vertically from the bottom to add some shadow.
Na wszystkie figurki nałożyłem tym razem podkład w sprayu jako najszybszą metodę. Będę starał się użyć jak najwięcej farbek GW Contrast. Zdecydowałem się więc na biały podkład na większości modeli pionowo z góry. Dodałem jednak również czarny podkład pionowo od dołu aby dodać trochę cienia.
Apply the primer to all the figures in the box at once.
Podkład nałożyłem odrazu na wszystkie figurki z pudełka.

Poniżej zostawiłem zdjęcie gargulca, aby pokazać Wam klasyczne nałożenie podkładu czarny + biały.
I assumed that I would try to paint all the figures according to the graphics on the character cards.
Założyłem, że postaram się pomalować wszystkie figurki zgodnie z grafikami na kartach postaci.

In the next step, I used washes on all elements except the skin. Finally, I added a small amount of highlights, mainly edging.
W kolejnym kroku użyłem washy na wszystkich elementach poza skórą. Ostatecznie dodałem niewielką ilość rozjaśnień, głównie krawędziowania.

I have the impression that this is the weakest model of all four heroes. It is incredibly flat and has little details.
Mam wrażenie, że to najsłabiej wykonany model z wszystkich czterech bohaterów. Jest niesamowicie płaski i ma niewiele detali.
At the very end, I glued screw washers to all the figures. This way the models will be heavier.
Na samym końcu do wszystkich figurek przykleiłem podkładki do śrub. W ten sposób modele będą cięższe.
Finally, I added blood stains on the weapon blades of all heroes :)
Ostatecznie dodałem jeszcze przybrudzenia krwią na ostrzach borni wszystkich bohaterów :)
I protected all miniatures with matte varnish using brush. I covered the edges of the bases and all metal elements such as armor or weapons with gloss varnish.
Wszystkie figurki zabezpieczyłem matowym lakierem za pomoca pędzla. Krawędzie podstawek oraz wszelkie elementy metalowe jak zbroja czy broń, pokryłem błyszczącym lakierem.
